Lectures Committee - Fall 2008

The Lectures Committe one and only fall meeting went well.

There was discussion of current lecture applications.
Also, the committee is looking to the future to find ways of equally distributing the funds as travel costs increase; the committee does not fear running out of money for lectures this year but that may be a problem in the near future.

If anyone has any questions or concerns about the Lectures Committee, feel free to post a reply.

Lectures Committee

The Lectures Committee meets once every semester to discuss policies; however, during the 2006-2007 academic year, the committee financially supported 87 lectures for a total expenditure of $80, 475. These lectures were sponsored by 73 different campus units.

The committee encourages student organizations (those formally registered with the SOO) to apply for lecture support with co-sponsorship from an academic department or program.

The Associated Students of Madison Shared Governance Committee Blog serves as a space for shared governance appointees and the UW-Madison student body to communicate on issues relating to shared governance. As part of their responsibilities as student representatives, appointees will post a report following each meeting attended.
